To showcase the joint effort by Ekaya Banaras and the Federation Francaise de la Creation Couture Sure Mesure, Studio Lotus was brought in <rt-red>to design the exhibition that would create the ideal frame for the melange of handwoven frame textile with French bridal couture.<rt-red>

The exhibition concept emerges from the eternal connection between flowers to weddings. Aligning with the notion of hand-woven fabrics being re-imagined as contemporary bridal gowns, the exhibition has been conceptualized as a surrealist narrative of an oasis of Victoria waterlilies. Circular mirrors have been suspended along the interior shell to mimic water droplets, highlighting the intricate detailing on the garments.

Podiums in mirror acrylic create the mirage of fragmented pools of water upon which 'waterlilies', crafted by Ankon Mitra and team have been floated. The origami-inspired 'waterlilies' have been made from banana rice paper, lit from beneath to highlight the handcrafted detailing of each gown.

With the colour palette ranging from a serene white to a dull gold, each garment has been displayed as a delicate bud emerging from within the floating waterlilies.
