"In December, RAAS became the first luxury hotel to open within the walls of an Indian heritage city. Tucked away in the heart of Jodhpur’s old town, guests are whisked from the bustling Clock Tower bazaar in signature blue tuk-tuks, navigating a vibrant maze before entering a world of calm through a modest wooden gateway.

Inside, the contrast is striking. A serene courtyard and pillared reception give way to a 35-foot modern sandstone wall, behind which blue cubic forms blend seamlessly into the surrounding skyline. The experience unfolds behind a contemporary jaali (perforated stone screen): a tranquil blue infinity pool framed by Mughal-style terraced gardens, a 19th-century pleasure pavilion now serving as a dining space, and beautifully restored 300-year-old structures from the women’s purdah quarter, one of which houses a spa.

Modern additions echo this historic setting, with a second block of suites clad in intricate jaali-work. Each room is a study in minimal luxury black terrazzo floors, private balconies with 11-foot-high stone screens that glide open at a touch, all positioned beneath the watchful gaze of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort looming above the complex."

Financial Times UK paints a vivid portrait of RAAS Jodhpur, not merely as a hospitality project but as a living tapestry woven from the threads of history, heritage, and design.
